A Tiny Tale

A feeling showed up one morning.

It didn't knock.

It just moved in, ate something directly out of the refrigerator, and spent the rest of the day following us around.

We tried to figure out what it was.

Happy? Not exactly.
Sad? A little.
Annoyed? Definitely.
Amused by the whole situation? Also yes.

Apparently, feelings are complicated.

So we stopped trying to explain it and gave it two words instead.

Good Grief.

And somehow, that was enough.

Two tiny words had managed to hold a whole messy little human feeling between them.

Which made us wonder:

What else could two words hold?

A mood?
A joke?
A memory?
A tiny rebellion?
That oddly specific feeling you were absolutely certain only happened to you?

There was only one way to find out.

So we started making things.

Every design starts with a simple challenge:

Can we take a feeling, give it two words, and make someone feel something?

Sometimes the answer is sweet.

Sometimes it's strange.

Sometimes it involves a pumpkin spilling its guts, a cloud hanging itself out to dry, or a snail who has decided maximum effort is wildly overrated.

We don't argue with the process.

We pair unexpected two-word phrases with hand-drawn, old-print-inspired artwork to create little emotional signals you can wear, hang, carry, or give away.

Some whisper.

Some shout.

Some make a stranger near the avocados snort-laugh.

We consider all three successful outcomes.

Because the right two words can say:

This is funny to me.
This is how I feel.
This is my kind of weird.

MADE SMALL. FELT BIG.
